		<description>Dan Downey is Senior Copywriter and general creative counsel for AMG Media Group. But his craft doesn’t stop there. Versed in all forms of contemporary communication (and a few outdated modes), Dan writes, edits, directs, produces, prods, plods and polishes copy and creative components across media. A veritable creative powerhouse, Dan’s work has appeared in finer publications including BusinessWeek, Architect Magazine, the Wall Street Journal, Transworld Business Magazine and on television and computer screens around the globe.

From scrimshaw skulls and large format screen printed banners to Search Engine Optimization, speech-writing, public relations, outreach and video production, if you’ve got to say it a certain way, Dan is the man to convey it… but not without you. Thriving on collaboration, Dan, in his own words, “does his best work directing teams of talent.” From a creative standpoint and his background in Architecture and Design, Dan firmly believes that creative proof is a tangible asset and you’re only as good as those things you produce.

From logos, marketing materials, publications and packaging to environmental graphics and interiors, Ladd Woodland transforms brand values into holistic customer experiences.

Philosophy
By virtue of simply doing business, every company and organization has a brand. Brands exist in the minds of clients and customers and are built and maintained with every interaction the customer has with that business. The challenge is to control that brand and build it into a valuable business asset.
Ladd Woodland’s holistic approach to brand image development employs both a macro and micro perspective on the brand experience. Engaging every customer touchpoint with one memorable message ensures a clear brand image in the minds of the market.

Raphael Delgado was born in Oxnard, California in 1981. He is the second of five children, three of them born after his family relocated to Sacramento in 1984. His parents owned and operated a gallery and custom frame business while he was a child, and Raphael spent much time there drawing and daydreaming. He was raised in rural Orangevale, but his adolescent summers were spent working with his maternal grandfather delivering fresh eggs in the heart of downtown Los Angeles. Each summer he worked 8 hour days and quietly studied the vibrant murals and burgeoning street art scene of the eighties and early nineties.

        Raphael produced and parted ways with several bodies of work throughout high school, although his attention was mainly focused on wrestling and football. During his senior year, his first set of high quality oil paints and brushes were graciously donated to him, which officially ended his athletic career.

      While attending Fullerton College, he became fascinated with the principals of cubism, surrealism, and abstract expressionism, as well as interested in physics and biology. In 2001 his first art exhibition was held and his work was infused with much of these principals. Later, at the Academy of Art University in San Francisco, he would further explore cubism and also begin printmaking. He was featured in several art festivals and student shows. In a fifth floor studio hovering over San Francisco’s Tenderloin District, he bartended and lived alone for three years while he created his “String Theory” method and “Scraped Drawing” technique. In 2005, he suffered a devastating loss when his entire body of academic work, along with several dozen paintings, were unjustly destroyed and egregiously stolen by his landlords while he was out of town. Utterly devastated and with only a few surviving pieces, he moved back to Sacramento and was back at square one. In 2006 he was vindicated in court and he opened up his own private art studio and gallery, which he operated from 2006 –2010.

     Currently living and working in Sacramento, Raphael has become a leading regional abstractionist and was recently named the Arts &#38; Business Council’s “Artist of the Year” in 2010, largely due to his Crayons to Canvas Art Supply Drive. His unique artwork is included in numerous private collections throughout the United States, and he maintains and satisfies a very loyal collector base in Sacramento. He is an ardent believer in the effectiveness of art therapy for kids and positive sense of self worth it brings to children , so he often donates his work to benefit such organizations as The Stanford Home for Children, Susan G. Komen Foundation, and KVIE.

      His current work is a departure from his cubist figures and portraits. Depopulated, his new geometric jewel-like paintings are active and imagined interior spaces, in which light, mass, energy, distance, force, and velocity are expressed abstractly using clearly delineated angular shapes, atmospheric drizzles of paint , and vibrant colors paired with weighty neutrals. Both perplexing and beautiful, his churning images are unmistakably urban and constructed with a combination of lyrical line work and bold painterly planes. Alluding also to geological and organic imagery, transfixed trails of paint fall somewhere between bursting shards of color, streaming directional trails, flat planes, and the infinite distance. The image created is one that is at once chaotic, but well organized, futuristic yet familiar.

Born into the modest suburbs of Northern California, I was intrigued by the grainy flickering images captured from a rusted old super-8mm film camera.  That growing fascination quickly turned to discovering new ways to frame the world as I saw it, rather then how it was shown to me.  Seeking to draw out a timeless and classic nature from every moment, this subtle perspective has brought opportunities to create work in the hallowed halls of the Bauhaus school, expansive skies of rural Texas, and the rustic chateaus of the French Pyrenees.  The affinity for molding images from distinct locations has sent me to Los Angeles, where I can engage my obsessions in fashion, art, food, and design against the iconic and diverse backdrop of a once grainy and flickering Hollywood.

		<description>&#60;img src="http://payload.cargocollective.com/1/1/34129/1636174/workSAMPLE.jpg" border="0" width="670" height="670" width_o="1440" height_o="1440" src_o="http://payload.cargocollective.com/1/1/34129/1636174/workSAMPLE_o.jpg" align="left" /&#62;
My interest in Architecture and Design started in high school as a member of the Manufacturing Production Technology Academy (M.P.T.A). I became experienced in drafting techniques, learned modeling programs such as AutoCAD and solid works, and gained extensive experience in a full sized woodshop.

I started classes in Architecture at Cosumnes River College where I also competed in the Cal Poly Design Village 2007 and 2008 Competition for which I received a 1st place award (2007) and a 3rd place award (2008).

While at UC Berkeley I was able to spend more time in a woodshop designing and building projects out of wood, steel, and concrete. I was also leader of a seven-person team working with Cal Habitat for Humanity that designed and built storage units for a transition home in Berkeley, CA. We kept this project green by using sustainable material and practices.

After graduating from Berkeley in 2010 with a BA in Architecture, I was given the opportunity to go to Houma, Louisiana to help build a house from the ground up. I worked side by side with the contractor experiencing all aspects of building a home. From foundation to trim work, our team of 4 finished the house in 2 months.

Located in Sacramento, CA, I now follow my passion for Architecture and Design by design-building small projects from picture frames, lighting, furniture, to room remodels. I am always up for new challenges in style and material. If you have any ideas you need help bringing to life, please let me know!
